Girls, girls, girls and so many different ones! If there was a phrase that could sum up my life, that would be it.
From the age of 8, I became hooked on Pornography. Day in and day out, I would watch it when no one was awake and, although I didn’t fully understand what was going on, I knew that the feeling I was getting from watching it was ‘nice’. My behaviour stemmed from my father leaving the house and witnessing him cheat on my mother with someone else. I swore that I would never be like him but, as I grew older, I saw my life heading in that direction.
I lost my virginity at 14 and, by this time, I was heavily addicted to both sex and pornography, to the point of wanting either one of the two everyday or even both! My family was deteriorating and my life was heading towards destruction.
Then, one day, a friend of mine whom I played basketball with, invited me to the VYG because he heard me complain about my life. It wasn’t easy changing my life, as the lifestyle I was living seemed to be perfectly normal, but after much prayers, support and advise, I was shown a different, healthier and better way of living.
Now, after 7 years of attending, my life has completely turned around. I am no longer addicted to sex and pornography, nor have family problems. I am in full time employment, as well as kick-starting my own media business.
I am engaged and preparing for marriage and I’m now a role model for young people to see that, if I made it, so can THEY!
