You are what you think you are

cifidenceIt’s not who you are that holds you back, but who you think you are.

If you think you’re the best, you’ll behave, dress, walk and talk as the best.  Sometimes, we’ve already sold ourselves as someone limp, weak and untrustworthy, simply due to our presentation and lack of confidence.

I’ve lost out many times because of shyness, nervousness and a lack of self-belief.  I’ve entered many situations in a defeated state of mind, and guess how I came out? Yup, defeated!

But when I pinpointed that this was the problem I had, I took a different approach. If something is telling me to keep my trap shut and just blend into the background, I’m inclined to say something to neutralise and kill this fearful thought.

Sometimes, confidence is misinterpreted as pride or cockiness, but you can’t possibly be everyone’s cup of tea or you’ll get taken for a mug.

At the end of the day, if you think you’re the best, behave accordingly and get somewhere in life. Why bind yourself to someone else’s small critical mind? They’re probably stuck where they are because their mind is so consumed with thoughts and criticisms about you that they haven’t had time to evolve and better themselves.
