The secret to making 2017 your year!

As a new year has comes, we find ourselves creating goals for ourselves and vowing that 2017 will be a great year for us. However, as the months go by, we may have the tendency to become comfortable and no longer see the importance of achieving these goals. Even when faced with difficulty, we find that we make even less of an effort to keep moving forwards. Have you ever wondered why this happens?

This happens when we are not defined. To overcome all the difficulties which come our way on a day-to-day basis, it’s important that we seek God for strength. We see a clear example in the verse bellow:

“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”

Proverbs 31.25-28

As we have each set many goals for this year, the only way to achieve these goals as we face battles, is by seeking God for His strength. The V-Woman clothed herself as a form of protection; when we seek God for His strength we seek His protection.

Think of your best friend, if you were to stop communicating with her your friendship with her would eventually end. With God it’s the same principle. The V-Woman knew that in order to overcome and achieve the things she had planned, she had to have her moments with God. Otherwise problems and situations would knock her down. If we don’t make it a priority to communicate with God we will be far from Him. For 2017 to really and truly be a year of greatness for us we need to get to know God – the One who is great! It is our relationship with Him that is our strength and will sustain us in difficult moments.

During this month of January, the Girls Meetings will be focused on the Virtuous woman. Although today the V-Woman may seem slightly farfetched, let’s not forget that in the Bible she has no name! Why? Because she can be anyone, these meetings will prove this to us by providing us with direction and practical advice on how to apply the characteristics of the V-Woman in our lives.

Are you ready? Just remember, a new year doesn’t determine a new life. That’s up to us.
